He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Lois, Noble Byerly, Larry and Betty Smith; and his great-uncles, Arvid Nelson and Harold Aiken.
He is survived by: his parents, David Alan and Diana Lynn Byerly Smith of Quincy; his spouse Clare Glomski; his children, Elaina, Isaac, Gideon, Josiah and Levi Smith; his brother Nicholas Smith (Amanda) of Quincy; his niece Charlotte; and his nephews, Dominic and Noble Smith.
