It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Merle J. Hellhake (Quincy, Illinois), who passed away on March 3, 2020, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Hellhake and Laura Hellhake (Schutte); his wife Joan Talken; his daughter Katherine Kraus (Hellhake); and his sisters, Alice Brumbaugh and Maxine Hellhake.

He is survived by: his children, Ann Hellhake VonDeBur (Joe) of Sherman, IL, Tom Hellhake (Marlene) of Quincy, Janet Shaughnessy (Tom) of Chesterfield, MO and Tim Hellhake (Maureen) of Lenexa, KS; his close friend Sharon Meyer of Quincy; and his grandchildren, Kate VonDeBur, Jill Kraus, Kim Kraus, Stephanie Kraus, Kari Kraus, Greg Hellhake (Sarah), Emily Schornheuser (Matt), Grace Shaughnessy, Jack Shaughnessy, Heath Hellhake and Noah Hellhake.
