She was predeceased by: her parents, Willard Shuler and Vera Shuler (Evermon); her husband Seldon "Dean" Cheney; her children, Melvin Cheney (Pattie Cheney) and Pattie Cheney; and her great grandchild Lucas Cheney.

She is survived by: her daughter-in-law Tina Cheney; her grandchildren, Deana Reichert (Jacob), Kevin Cheney (Krista), Brian Cheney (Shannon), Alishia Harscher (Brad), Darren Cheney-Davis (Ray), Melissa Thomas (John) and Christina Breuer (Tyler); and her close friend Kathy Woodbury. She is also survived by her twenty-one great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the O'Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home (435 State St, Quincy, IL 62301). A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Greenmount Cemetery (1701 S 12th St, Quincy, IL 62301).
