It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nelson K. Smith of Quincy, Illinois, who passed away on April 12, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Smith and Edna Smith (Reddick); and his sister Joann Bier. He is survived by: his wife Marie Jeanette Smith (Voss); his children, Laurie Travis (David) of Jefferson City, MO, Teresa Smith of Quincy, IL and Tim Smith (Tammy) of Quincy, IL; his grandchildren, Anthony Clark (Jennifer), Jeanette Soebbing (Daniel), Alyssa Smith, Katherine Clark, Jordan Smith, Tyler Clark (Brittany), Lilith Winters, Ryan Smith (Rina), Tonya Travis, Chrysi Decker and David Travis II; his great grandchildren, Coen Pierce, Kinley Clark, Eloise Soebbing, Avery Clark, Benjamin Clark, Adeline Clark, Kiersten Laurence, Keegan Nebe, Kelsie, Kendall Travis, Blake Hewett, Jamelah Raymond, Brody Travis, Casey Corey and Rhegan Decker; and his brothers, Gerald Smith and Ron Smith. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
