He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Frank Hessling and Alvera Hessling (Winking); his wife Audrey Rose Meyer; his sons, Robin Hessling of Quincy and Russell Hessling of Georgetown, Texas.; his grandchildren, Richard Hessling, Conner Hessling, Rebecca Donnelly and Rachelle Martin; his great grandchild Rowen Martin; his brother Tom Hessling Numerous; and his son Richard Hessling, Jr.. He was also cherished by Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Adams County.
