It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard J. Gengenbacher of Quincy, Illinois, who passed away on February 23, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward C. Gengenbacher and Vera E. Gengenbacher (Peters); his siblings, Lorene Sims, Kenneth Gengenbacher and Shirley Dingerson; his great grandchild Kinsley Rae; his parents-in-law, Mary and Harry Amburn; and his sister-in-law Margaret Egbers.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Lou of Mary's Catholic Church; his children, Rick Gengenbacher (Becky) of Quincy, Russ Gengenbacher (Lori) of Quincy, Janet Smith (Scott) of Liberty, IL, Randy Gengenbacher (Michelle) of Quincy, Ron Gengenbacher of Quincy, Joy Requet (Adam) of Olathe, KS and Rob Gengenbacher (Liz) of Quincy; his brothers, Jerry Gengenbacher (Evelyn) of Quincy, IL and Bob Gengenbacher (Donna) of Fort Madison, IA; and also Linda Gengenbacher of Bozeman, Montana.. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
