He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Hess and Esther Hess (Kerwin); his sister Barbara Daniels (Hess); his parents-in-law, Robert and Delores Bastert; his sister-in-law Sharon Mitok (Bastert); and his cousin Edwin Apenbrink.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Hess of La Grange, MO; his son Karington K. Hess; his daughter-in-law Abigail of Roanoke, VA; his nieces, Melissa Challenger (Daniels) and Lori Littlejohn (Daniels); his nephew Justin Daniels of Florida; and his in-laws, John Bastert (Pat), Bob Bastert (Sandy), Carol Kreckler (Joe) and Dan Bastert (Nancy). He is also survived by many many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews along with countless friends.
