He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Johannessen and Gertrude Johannessen (Schaefer); his wife Patricia Mae Yonk; and his brother-in-law Dick Davis. He is survived by: his children, Amy Johannessen of Quincy, Jason Johannessen (Heidi) of Quincy and John Johannessen (Melissa) of Quincy; his grandchildren, Kaitlin Whiston (Doug), Caeden Johannessen, Christopher Engelmann (Wyatt), Megan Johannessen (Nicholas Stray) and Emily Johannessen; his great grandchildren, Jake, Rory Whiston, Adaline and Robert Stray; his siblings, Joyce Davis, Bill Johannessen (Ginny) and Tom Johannessen (Kathy); and his sister-in-law Nancy Van Meter (Ellis).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home (823 Broadway St, Quincy, IL 62301). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Peter Catholic Church (2600 Maine St, Quincy, IL 62301).
