He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Garkie and Luetta Garkie (Harrison); and his brother Marty E. Garkie. He is survived by: his children, Jenna Bailey (Matt) of Highland, IL, Keith Garkie (Dani) of Simpsonville, SC and Becca Garkie of Quincy; his grandchildren, Hadley, Lincoln, Jackson, Tage and Ayla; and his brothers, Kenneth O. Garkie (Bonnie) and Robert L. Garkie (LeAnn). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
