With solemn reverence, we commemorate Roger G. Whitaker (Quincy, Illinois), whose life came to an end on July 23, 2025 at the age of 78, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
Though Roger may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Roger touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lodelle Whitaker and Norma Lee Whitaker; his grandparents, Andy and Nora Whitaker; his brother Bobby Whitaker; and his mother-in-law C. L. Kirkton.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia "Ginger" Kirkton; and his children, Ryan Whitaker (Bobbie) and Lance Whitaker. He is also survived by four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, as well as extended family.
Visitation was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home (1535 State St, Quincy, IL 62301). A funeral service was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
