It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ronald Whittaker of Quincy, Illinois, who passed away on December 1, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Ronald Whittaker to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Whittaker and Virginia Whittaker (Ohnemus); his in-laws, Floyd and Louise Shaffer; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Whittaker, Donald Shaffer, Dennis Shaffer and Robert Shaffer.
He is survived by: his spouse Rosemary'Rosie'Shaffer; his daughters, Renee Degitz of Quincy, Rhonda Goodwin (Shawn) of Quincy and Rochelle Howard (Staven) of Quincy; his grandchildren, Taylor Degitz, Blake Degitz, Maggie Goodwin, Libby Goodwin, Gabriel Howard and Benjamin Howard; his siblings, Daniel Whittaker (Ann), Glenn Whittaker and Roger Whittaker (Sandy); and his sisters-in-law, Betty Reichert (Richard), Susan Walbring and Ann Shaffer.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home (823 Broadway St, Quincy, IL 62301). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to the Illinois Veterans Home Activities Fund, the Toys for Tots Program, the Blessing Foundation for Hospice or Masses in his memory can be given for the Illinois Veterans Home Chapel or to St. Francis Catholic Church.
