He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Charles and Edith Reed (Amen); his wife Mary; his siblings, Jean, Dr. James Reed and Dan Reed; and his granddaughter Allison Reed.

He is survived by: his sons, Brian (Mary Jo) of Quincy and Dr. Brennan (Debbie) of Quincy; his grandsons, Gavin Reed (Adria) of Denver, CO, Alex Reed of St. Joseph, MO, Tanner Reed of Kansas City, MO and Landon Reed of Ursa, IL; and his great grandchildren, Nathan and Graham.

Memorials may be made to the All Wars Museum at the Illinois Veterans Home.
