With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Walter J. Reed of Quincy, Illinois, born in Fort Madison, Iowa, who passed away on December 15, 2023 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank and Clara Reed Sr. (Grothaus); his daughter Dawn Smith; his grandson Lucas Sparrow; and his brothers, Howard, Don, Moe Reed, Joey Reed and Raymond Reed.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Graddy (Baird); and his children, Melody Armstrong (Tad) of Edwardsville, IL, Mark Reed of Quincy, Douglas Reed (Janie) of Quincy, Tom Graddy (Debbie) of Columbia, MO, Walter Scott Reed (Paula) of Quincy and Kim Sparrow (Dan) of Quincy. He is also survived by Numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
