He was predeceased by: his parents, Carroll Harbison and Mabel Imogene Harbison (Gholson); his wife Velma L. "Toots" Harbison (Durant); his son Carroll Joe "C. J." Harbison; his great grandchild Peyton Hill; and his siblings, Ray Harbison and Kay Wright.
He is survived by: his daughter Debbie Hill of Raleigh, Illinois; his grandchildren, Michael Hill, Michelle Segler (Brandon), Jason Harbison (Katelin), Tyler Harbison and Katie Watkins (Alex); and his great grandchildren, Jase Segler, Ty Segler, Lane Segler, Avery Hill, Grace Harbison and Lincoln Rex Harbison.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Colonial Terrace Funeral Home (700 4th St, Eldorado, IL 62930). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Eldorado High School Foundation, where a scholarship fund will be established in Rex's memory to benefit a graduating high school senior who plays basketball.
