He was predeceased by: his father Floyd Riss; and his wife LeeAnn Sennott Riss. He is survived by: his mother Joyce Riss (Held) of Ransom; his children, Devin Riss of Bloomington and Bryon Riss (Lauren Bohnsack) of Snohomish, Washington; his grandson Bryson; his sister Beverly Schmidt (Stephen) of North Bend, Oregon; and his uncle Donald Held of Ransom. He is also survived by nephew and a niece in Oregon; and many cousins and friends.
