He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Phillip Carpenter and Mary Carpenter; his wife Melinda Olding; his children, Heather John (Chris), Nick Carpenter (Christina), Amanda Jester (Jeremy), Audrey Grunst (James) and Matthew Davis (Carolina Botero); his grandchildren, Avery, Ava, Tyler, Rylie, Case, Charlie, Juliet, Vanessa, Jack D., Jack M. and Anna; and his brother Steve Carpenter (Karon).
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center's Lux Chapel (1551 E Grove Ave, Rantoul, IL 61866).
Memorial donations may be made in Dennis's name to the Rantoul VFW Post 6750.
