He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Potts and Iona Potts. He is survived by: his siblings, Virginia Berry of St. Francisville and David Potts (Dinah) of Piggott, AR; his wife Carol Potts (Beeler); his children, Janet McGuire (Richard), Jeffrey Potts (Lee Ann) and Brian Potts (Keli); his grandchildren, Hayley Huff (Stefan Poelz), Joanna Howard (Mike), Hillary Booso, Jacob Potts (Ann), Seth Potts, Jeffrey Huff (Emillie), Devin Hinners (Samantha), Isabel Potts, Andrew Potts, Mikayla Potts, Audrey Potts and Nicholas Potts; and his great grandchildren, Hazel Jo Booso, Parker Potts, Carter Hinners and Penelope Potts. He is also survived by his family, friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Malachy Catholic Church (340 E Belle Ave, Rantoul, IL 61866). A Mass was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
The family asks that memorial gifts be directed to the Henry J. Smith Charitable Foundation for St. Malachy School or the donor's choice.
