She was predeceased by: her parents, Daniel Jacobs and Leona Jacobs; her daughter Joy Evans; and her siblings, Clyde "Bud" Jacobs, Doris Pritchett, Bill Jacobs, Ralph Jacobs, Judy Fry, John Jacobs and Kenny Jacobs.
She is survived by: her children, Jeff Evans, Janelle Cahoon (Andrew), Jill Evans and Jadon Evans (RoseMary); her grandchildren, Christina Cahoon, Ross Cahoon, Jeremy Evans, Danielle Evans, Austin Evans, Nicole Reed, Alex Evans and Sean Evans; and her brother Robert "Bobby" Jacobs. She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 7th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sunset Funeral Home- Lux (1551 E Grove Ave, Rantoul, IL 61866). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 7th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial donations may be made in Mary Ellen's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
