She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Schaefer and Frances Schaefer; her husband Donald Hess; her siblings, Henry Schaefer, Gertrude Pautler (Leo), Clarence Schaefer (Joan), Regina Scherle (Bob), Frances Rahn (Norman), Albert Schaefer (Joyce), Robert Schaefer, Willie Schaefer, Josephine Smith (Victor) and Teresa Schaefer; Jeanette Schaefer.
She is survived by: her children, Steven F. (Dianna), Stan (Cathy), Jeff (Lynda) and Donna; her brother Martin Schaefer; her sisters-in-law, Martha, Julie Schaefer and Dot; and her grandchildren, Tom Hess (Kallie Fain), Angela Craig (Tommy), Amy Buch (Ethan), Derrick Hess (Amanda Zalders), Darren Hess (Elizabeth), Ashley Pickering (Jeremy), Elizabeth Bert (Clinton), Alex Hess (Anna), Kyle Hess (Melaina) and Brady Hess (Gabby). She is also survived by Many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 11th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, September 12th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A Mass was held on Friday, September 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (515 Locust St, Red Bud, IL 62278).
