She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Goforth and Artie Goforth (Clark); her daughter Cheryl Merz; her granddaughter Bonnie Vonder Haar; and her siblings, Jane, Irene, Wanda and Ronald.
She is survived by: her husband John; her children, John Vonder Haar, Jr. (Maria), David Vonder Haar (Christina) and Jackie Carlson (Bryan); and her grandchildren, Andrew Merz (Kimberly), Peter Merz (Megan), John Vonder Haar III (Nicole), Colleen O'Neil (Matthew), Hannah Vonder Haar, Benjamin Vonder Haar, Katelynn Carlson and Bryan Carlson, Jr.. She is also survived by great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Thompson Spring Grove Funeral Home (8103 Wilmot Rd, Spring Grove, IL 60081). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
In keeping with Jean's compassionate heart and her love for animals, Memorial Donations to the ASPCA or to Alzheimer's Association for Dementia Research would be greatly appreciated by her family.
