He is survived by : his wife Elaine Lassner (Olivier); his children, Nick Lassner (Amy) of Ridgway and Sara Lassner (Scott); his grandchildren, Elliott and Isabella Lassner of Ridgway; and his brothers, George, Michael, Joe and Bob Lassner.

“I wet to aviation mechanics school with Dan, as well as helicopter conventions and formed D and L helicopters, Inc. I also attended his wedding to Elaine and shared a meal with him and his mom and dad at their farm. He encouraged me to get my pilots license.Which I did. I enjoyed many years as a corporate pilot - he also got me a bit of stick time on an army helicopter - he said flying one was "like standing on a beach ball in the middle of a lake" he was right - reckon he got his final wings”
