She was predeceased by : her parents, Kenneth Dato and Ruth Dato (Hertz); her husband Eric J. Kirchner; her sister Jolene; her fathers-in-law, Ralph "Butch" Kirchner and Bryan Knight; and her sister-in-law Elizabeth.

She is survived by : her son Ben (Kayla Shafer) of Limestone; her siblings, Cindy DeYoung (Jim) of Bourbonnais, Marsha Baker (Phil Snyder) of Chebanse, Pete Dato (Connie) of Reddick and Dave Dato (Heather) of Bonfield; her mothers-in-law, Ardis Knight of Limestone and Nancy Snedecor (Jerry) of Bonfield; and her siblings-in-law, Kevin Kirchner (Sheila) of Bonfield, Nigel Knight (Kathy) of Bourbonnais and Heather Thurston (Jeremy) of Herscher. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Uplifted Care (Hospice of Kankakee Valley) or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
