She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilbur Higgins and Margaret Higgins; her brothers, John Higgins (Diane) and James Higgins (Rosemary); and her brothers-in-law, John D. Scanlon (Jane), Edward "Butch" Scanlon (late Colleen) and Andrew "Skip" Scanlon.
She is survived by: her husband Bill; her children, Jacqueline Lurie (Michael), Courtenay Erb (Edward), Alyson Scanlon and Blake Scanlon (Anne); her grandchildren, Bradford Lurie (Samantha), Blaire Lurie, Sheridan Lurie, Laramie Scanlon, Colin Scanlon, Nolan Scanlon and Cassidy Erb; her great grandchild Margot Lurie; and her sisters-in-law, Mary Catherine Durkin (late John) and Noreen Cherep (late Philip).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Maripat's memory to the Riverside Public Library.
