He was predeceased by: his parents, L. W. Freeland and Bertha Freeland; and his stepson Scott Courtney. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Williamson Freeland of Robinson, IL; his children, Pamela Lynn Freeland of Spokane, WA and Christopher David Freeland (Chris Cozzoni) of Navarre, FL; his grandchildren, Benjamin Butler (Alicia), Baileigh Butler, Emma Courtney and Abi Courtney; his great grandchild Roslyn Butler; and his brother Gary Freeland (Dixie).
In lieu of flowers, his family requests that memorials be made to the "Dave Freeland Memorial Scholarship", which will provide assistance to students pursuing a degree or certificate from a trade school, technical school, or on-the-job training program, including community college.
