James Laverle Newlin Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Laverle Newlin (Robinson, Illinois), born in Mattoon, Illinois, who passed away on June 7, 2023 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Ova Newlin and Ruth Newlin (Osborn); his wife Marilyn Newlin; his siblings, Gary Newlin, Johnny Newlin, Esther Kemper, Patty Pethtel, Carolyn Dennis and Virginia York; and his daughter Shelly Myers.

He is survived by : his son John; his daughter-in-law DeEtta Newlin of Hutsonville, IL; his daughter Rita; his sons-in-law, Danny Nethery of Robinson, IL and Louie Myers of Trimble, IL; his grandchildren, Dusty Nethery (Ryann Chiddix), Tanner (Brittany Nethery) of Brent, Powell, Mackenzie (Tyler Moore) and Johnny (Marissa Newlin); his great grandchildren, Walker Nethery, Monroe Nethery, Pyke Nethery, Oakley and Hentley Nethery; his brother Podge; and his sister-in-law Linda Newlin of Robinson, IL. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
