He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Collings and Jennie Collings (Ochs); his former spouse Cathern P. "Cate" (Smith); his wife Virginia (Cassady); his siblings, Clarence Edward Collings Jr. of Delbert Collings, O. L, Raymond Collings, Juanita Anderson, Beatrice Coon, Sister Pauletta Collings and Dorothy Briggs; and his grandson Michael Huff Jr. (Emma Dean Cox).
He is survived by: his daughters, Karen McDaniel of Oblong, IL, Sandi Huff (Michael) of Ashburn, VA, Paula Midgett (Chuck) of Flat Rock, IL and Judy (David); and his sisters-in-law, Marilyn Collings and Carolyn Carmichael. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Among his many contributions to Oblong was the excavation and refurbishment of Oblong Lake.
