He was predeceased by: his wife Catherine Johnson; his parents, John Johnson and Lois Johnson-Nethery (Hesher); his stepfather William Edwin "Bill" Nethery; his siblings, Monte, Jane Johnson, Kerry "George", Vicki Johnson, Karen France, Mila Walton and Clinton "Butch" Johnson; his brother-in-law Kenny Ledbetter; his parents-in-law, Bill and Lillian Fancil; and his siblings-in-law, Ralph Fancil, William "Jack" Fancil, David Fancil, Mike Fancil, Mike Thompson and Judy Shields.
He is survived by: his cousin Dan; his sons, Mike Johnson and John Johnson; his grandchildren, Clarence Johnson, Blossom Riene Johnson and Brittany Johnson; his grandchildren-in-law, Kathy, Robert Eveland, Marta Ledbetter, Fredda, Grover Brimberry and William R. "Bill" Nethery; and his sisters-in-law, Pam Goss, Tammy Thompson and Phyllis Fancil. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren; by his siblings.
