He was predeceased by: his wife Nelda Dotson; his parents, Rainey, Sr. Dotson and Opal Dotson (Farmer); and his siblings, Cletus, Virgil, Carl, Gary Dotson and Donna Quipp.
He is survived by: his daughters, Robin (Jim Davis) and Christy (Dan Carmichael). He is also survived by five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
