She was predeceased by: her parents, Delmar Jones and Edna Jones (Swanbum); her spouse LaVerne M. Smith; her sister Jeanette Jones; her son Brian Smith; and her grandson Nathan Smith.
She is survived by: her daughters, Jody Weidman (Ed) of Downers Grove, IL and Diane MacLaren (Scott) of Rockford; her daughter-in-law Mary Smith of Monroe Center, IL; her grandchildren, Nicole, Kyle Weiland, Brooke Heinz (Nicholas), Zachary Weidman, Philip Smith (Jennifer), Logan Smith and Joshua Smith (Rebecca); her great grandchildren, Tripp, Sylviana, Nilo, Anna, Banks, Johnathan and Josephine; her stepgranddaughter Kelli Oman (Joshua); her stepgreat-granddaughters, MacKenna and Aubrie; her siblings, Don Jones (Joan) of Sycamore, IL and Lois Anderson (John) of Machesney Park, IL; and her brother-in-law Richard Smith of Rochelle.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:20 AM at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home (400 N 6th St, Rochelle, IL 61068). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be made in Dorothy's memory to OSF Hospice.
