He was predeceased by: his mother Judith Holznagel (Rother); his parents-in-law, Penney Herzmann and Heinz "Paul" Herzmann; and his brother-in-law Sonny Zander. He is survived by: his father Ronald Holznagel of Schaumburg, IL; his wife Paula Rae Herzmann of Rochelle; his daughters, Beth Gardiner (Danny) of Acworth, GA and Darci Kellum (John) of Rochelle; his siblings, Julene Zander of Denver, CO, Jim Holznagel (Sue) of Hoffman Estates, IL and Jon Holznagel (Lisa); his granddaughters, Bailey, Adley, Audrey and Nola; and his siblings' children, Nicki Zander, Rachel Holznagel and Matthew Holznagel.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home (400 N 6th St, Rochelle, IL 61068). A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
