With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Maria R. Lara of Rochelle, Illinois, who passed away on March 15, 2026 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ramon Rocha and Carmen Rocha (Ibarra); her siblings, Albert Rocha, Luis Rocha, Polo Rocha, Julia Martinez, Celestino Rocha, Gilbert Rocha and Pete Rocha; and her grandchildren, Frieda Lara and Nathan Ortega.
She is survived by: her husband Lino Lara of Rochelle, Illinois; her children, San Juana Hueramo of Rochelle, Joe Lara (Shannon) of DeKalb, Robert Lara (Renee) of Kentucky, Mary Lazaro (Clemente) of DeKalb and Ray Lara (Heather) of Rochelle, Illinois.; and her grandchildren, Alex (Jenny), Christian (Bethany), Gabriel (Angelina), Benjamin Hueramo, Richard Basquez, Mike Samra, Tony Pickreign, Ashley Lara, Cruz Lara, Rocky Lara, Ana Lazaro, Alyssa Lazaro, Adriana Struthers (Mason), MacKenzie O'Rear (Jeb), Kyler Lara, Noah Lara and Abigail Lara. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
