He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Mayer and Irene Mayer (Hartmann); his wife Deb; his children, Danny Mayer and Nicole Mayer; his grandson Kyle Mayer; and his sister Jodi Harms (Jerry).
He is survived by: his sons, David Mayer (Lorri) of Lindenwood, IL, Alex Dodson (Crystal) of Ashton, IL and Matthew Dodson of Durango, CO; his grandchildren, Amber Wittenauer (Matthew), Ally Bagg (Jeremy), Paige Meyer, Courtney Dodson and Brooke Dodson; and his great grandchildren, Autumn, Bentley, Chesney, Hayden and Isaac. He is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, several cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Paul's memory to St. Paul Lutheran Church or to Serenity Hospice and Home.
