He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Emerson and Hazel Emerson (Kidd); his children, Michael H. Emerson, Sr. and Jody Emerson-Grimmett; and his granddaughters, Jackie Hannon and Deirdre Ferry.
He is survived by: his wife Frances Taylor; his daughter Sandra Elliott (Donald Poludniak); his grandchildren, Sarah Deen, Michael Emerson, Jr., Amanda Emerson and Shane Elliott; and his siblings, Elizabeth Chelinsky and C. Albert Emerson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
