He was predeceased by: his parents, William Gronlund and Hilda Gronlund (Komppa); his wife Edna Marie Ahonen; and his siblings, Elmer, Walter, Elma Stavos and Lila Ristine.

He is survived by: his sons, Steven Gronlund (Ann) of Monroe Center, IL and Brian Gronlund (Ken Schultz) of Cathedral City, CA; his grandson Eric Gronlund (Maegan); his great grandchildren, Madison, Emma and Brooke of Chicago, IL; his granddaughter Lisa Moscato (Dominico) of Dixon, IL; his siblings, Clifford (Rose) of Sebeka, MN, Leslie (Alice Jean) of Sebeka, MN and Irene Burns (Marc) of Santa Cruz, CA; and his sister-in-law Beverly Gronlund of Roseville, CA..
