He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett W. Hussong and Mildred L. Hussong (Nebergall). He is survived by: his wife Joyce A. Sandrock; his daughters, Connie Von Holten (Lynn) of Sterling and Carol Vandermoon (Gene) of Rock Falls; his grandchildren, Ryan Von Holten (Dee Anna), Jeff Von Holten (Lori), Rachel Wayne (James), Scott Vandermoon (Tanya) and Traci Verdery (Scott); his great grandchildren, Alex, Sammy and Jacob Von Holten; and his grandchildren, Eleanor, Lucy Von Holten, Mackenzie, Grant Wayne, Maddie, Jackson Vandermoon, Ella and Emerson Verdery.

Memorials may be given in his memory to New Life Lutheran Church in Sterling.
