He is survived by: his wife Berta M. Montiel; his children, Rosemary Bachman of Oxford, MI, Patty Martinez (Leroy Hart) of Rock Falls, Veronica "Marlo" Martinez of Hot Springs, AR and Santiago "Jimmy" Martinez (Melissa) of Bettendorf, IA; his granddaughter Perla Jean Martinez; and his sister Ofelia Quantanilla (Juan) of San Benito, TX. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be given in his memory to St. Andrew Church or the Care Center in Sterling.
