He was predeceased by: his parents, Lyman Simpson and Ida Simpson (Monnier); his former wife Audrey Wescott; his son Michael Simpson (Norma); and his sister Leona Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Johnson (Berge); and his children, Robert Simpson (Song) of Rock Falls, Richard Simpson (Patti) of Rock Falls, Terry Simpson (Janice), Larry Johnson of Rock Falls, Douglas Johnson (Julie) and Sheri Johnson of Rock Falls. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Life Lutheran Church in Sterling.
