With solemn reverence, we commemorate Bruce C. I. Skoglund of Rock Island, Illinois, whose life came to an end on August 2, 2025 at the age of 102, leaving behind cherished memories. Though Bruce may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Bruce touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Erick Skoglund and Ingrid Skoglund (Halverson); and his wife Audrey I. Sundberg. He is survived by: his children, Christine Brandt (Rick) and Erick Skoglund; and his granddaughters, Becky Wilburn (Chad), Elizabeth Otten (Drew), Amy McEvoy (Jay) and Sarah Bower (Cody). He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory (6601 38th Ave, Moline, IL 61265). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post 246.
