It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles L. Payton of Rock Island, Illinois, who passed away on April 5, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mother Billie Payton (Henry); his son Michael; his grandsons, Christopher Edward, Tony Lee and Christopher Michael Payton; and his brothers, Bob and Ronald Payton.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Fox; his grandson Michael Payton (Christa); his great grandchildren, Michael, Elyse, Elizabeth and Alexis Payton; his daughter-in-law Ruby Payton; and his niece Kim Fifer. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
