He was predeceased by: his parents, Eduardo Villarreal and Guadalupe Villarreal (Benavidez); his siblings, Francisco and Rosalinda De La Rosa; his grandchildren, Javier Villarreal and Christina Morlan; and his nieces and nephews, Stephen, Chris Villarreal, Angelina and Morcia Elisa Villarreal.

He is survived by: his wife Christine Wadkins; his children, Lisa Barbee (James), Amy Powell (Brenton), Ashley Villarreal-James (Naythan), Edward Villarreal III (Joise) and Jeremy Villarreal (Stacy); and his siblings, Elena, Olga, Irma, Ester, Yolanda, Roberto, Hector, Luis, Arturo and Lionel. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
