We are sad to announce that on December 13, 2023, at the age of 74, Evelyn A. Carter of Rock Island, Illinois, born in Natchez, Mississippi passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Lonnie Beamer and Odessa Thomas; her grandson Samuel Lindell Wires, Jr.; and her siblings, June Henry, Maurice Dunham and Daris Davis.

She is survived by : her daughter Angela Clayton Hodges of Davenport; her grandchildren, Ashley Thomas Wilson, Darnell Lamontay Hodges and Brittney Champagne Hodges; her great grandchild Tayla LeAnn Hodges; and her siblings, Virginia Lee Brown of St. Louis, Missouri and Mark Thomas of St. Louis, Missouri. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
