He is survived by: his wife Zen Winter; his children, Jeanne Knight (Jim), Kathryn Henning and William Henning (Anne); and his grandchildren, Jennifer Anderson (Josh), Amy Seehusen (Peter), David Knight (Megan), Emily Knight, John Henning and Jack Henning. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
