He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Lavern "Mike" and Ruth Huggins (Greenwood); his wife Katie; and his son Michael. He is survived by: his sons, Mark Huggins (Linda), Milan and Rob Huggins (Kelie); his grandchildren, Michael Huggins (Megan), Bettendorf, Matthew Huggins (Michaela), Emily McDowell (Jason), Taylor Ridge, Tyler Huggins (Sierra) and Michele Martin (Payton); his brother-in-law John William Schaechter (Peggy); and his close friends, Brian and Sue Brieby. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
A rosary will be held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home & Crematory (201 4th Ave E, Milan, IL 61264). Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory (201 4th Ave E, Milan, IL 61264). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Ambrose Catholic Church (312 1st St W, Milan, IL 61264). A burial will be held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at the Sherrard Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorials be made to the Knights of Columbus Chalice Fund, a testament to George's enduring commitment to his faith and community.
