He was predeceased by: his parents, Erwin Ribbeck and Laura Ribbeck (Niemann); and his son Doug. He is survived by: his wife Joan Reuter; his children, Tom (Cindy) and Karen (Paul Neder); and his grandchildren, Mila (Brittney), Mark and Cole.

Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline, The American Parkinson's Disease Association (APDA) or Friendship Manor in Rock Island.
