He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Novak and Dorothy Groves Novak; and his brothers, Steve and Joe Novak. He is survived by: his daughter Amie Garcia (Dave Flores); his granddaughters, Adrianna, Jasmin and Marcela Garcia; his great grandchildren, Kole Mallette and Monarch Edwards-Garcia; and his sibling's children, Ryan Novak, Robyn Gates, Lisa Novak, Jolie Novak, Jason Novak and Josh Novak.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. (3030 7th Ave, Rock Island, IL 61201). A memorial service was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Church of Peace United Church of Christ (1114 12th St, Rock Island, IL 61201).
