John D. Hennessey Obituary

We are sad to announce that, on May 24, 2026, at the age of 86, John D. Hennessey of Rock Island, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Don Hennessey and Blanche Hennessey (Kinley); and his brother James Hennessey. He is survived by: his wife Rose Mary Hamilton; his children, David Hennessey (Laura), Purcellville and Christine Hennessey; his grandson Garrett Hennessey; and his siblings, Delores Quint (Tony), Jean Klein, Donna Weiler, Kenosha and Thomas Hennessey.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Don & Blanche Kinley Hennessey Scholarship Fund at Mt. Mercy University, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
