She was predeceased by: her parents, George Davis and Fern Davis (Bates); her husband Charles Spates; her son Bo Spates; and her sisters, Judy Voss and Kay Kuder.
She is survived by: her son Tim Spates (Beverly Spates); her grandchildren, Derrick Simmons, Zachary Spates and Charly Heber-Spates; her sisters, Patty Thornton (Michael) and May Herron (Bill); and her close friend Jill Boyle. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
