She was predeceased by : her parents, Augustine Rosa-Gastaldo and Mary Rosa-Gastaldo (Pascatto); her daughter Pam Hanssen; her sister Rita; and her son-in-law Rick Shurtz.

She is survived by : her husband Melvin Ballard; her daughters, Kristine Novak (Steve), Shelley Proudfit, Bettendorf, Jewell Joyce (Jerry), Susan Hill (Dennis) and Davenport; her brother Tony Rosa-Gastaldo (Judy); and her grandchildren, Todd (Lisa), Eric Shurtz (Anne), Meagan Sweet (Alan), Davenport, Jack Hill and Jessica Eager. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's.

Lillian was born on July 4, 1929 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Augustine and Mary (Pascatto) Rosa-Gastaldo.
