With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Mary Lou Gutierrez of Rock Island, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy G. Hershey and Lillie Hershey (Poole); her spouse Epifanio Gutierrez; her daughter Valerie Gutierrez; and her brothers, Roy Hershey, Wendel Parrish and Wayne Parrish.
She is survived by: her children, Sharon Teel (James), Mark Gutierrez, Brian Gutierrez (Patty), Brent Gutierrez and Lisa Ellison (Ken); and her brother Truman Parrish (Sheila). She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren.
A rosary will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. (3030 7th Ave, Rock Island, IL 61201). Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory (3030 7th Ave, Rock Island, IL 61201). A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at the Calvary Cemetery (1500 31st Ave, Rock Island, IL 61201).
Memorials may be directed to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rock Island for Masses.
