He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle Burger and Ruth Burger (Moody); his brothers, Jack and Jim Burger (Sue); his siblings-in-law, Laken Long, Kenny Marcum and Adeline Husser (Marcum); his niece Cibby Romero (Burger); and his nephews, Merle Burger and Kyle Marcum.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Marcum of Rock Island; his daughter Tammy; his son-in-law Robinson of Matherville, IL; his son Russ; his daughter-in-law Leeann Burger of Muscatine, Iowa; his grandchildren, Dan, Robert Robinson of Matherville, Allison and Todd Anderson; his great grandchild Emmy (Drake) of Orion, IL; and his siblings, Bill Burger (Renie) of Rochelle, IL and Cibby Long of Bella Vista.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church (3300 24th St, Rock Island, IL 61201).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rock Island or Friendship Manor, Rock Island.
